Morocco to face Brazil in friendly Match in March

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation chairman, Faouzi Lakjaa, has announced that the country's national team will play an international friendly match against Brazil in Agadir in March. The Atlas Lions will not take part in this year's Africa Cup of Nations after they asked Caf to move the event to another date, which the continent's football governing baulked at and proceeded to hand the hosting rights to Equatorial Guinea. But the Moroccan federation has now sealed an agreement with the South Americans to face them in Agadir."We agreed a deal with the Brazilian Football Federation to play a friendly game against them in March in Agadir. That will be a good test for our national team," Lakjaa said. The last match between Morocco and Brazil was on June 16, 1998 when at the Fifa World Cup in France. The Brazilians won 3-0.Caf is yet to make any official pronouncement of sanctions on the Morocco Football Federation following its refusal to play host to this year's edition of the Afcon on the stipulated date.
